Unusual weapons and local history can be
discovered in the Powell County Museum. Paul Elberson's collection
of weapons is a unique blend of World War I and World War II military
weapons, frontier era guns, muskets and more. You can also gaze
upon a beautiful salt and pepper display, breath-taking antique
furniture and a mining display that will take you back in time the
days of hard labor and sweat.
The story of the Deer Lodge
Valley unfolds as you step into the Powell County Museum. Experience what life was
like in early Montana through displays and photos of the area.
A photo equipment display
belonging to Otho Hartley coincides with the more than 22,000 photos of events
and people from Powell County in the Smith-Hartley-Thompson collection. One smaller
display is a collection of autographed movie star photos.
